On 23, 24 and 29 March 2021, I Vini del Piemonte launched the new activity by Top Cluster entitled “Opinion Leader Roundtable USA with Deborah Parker Wong”.
Three round tables to virtually connect important opinion leaders of the US wine market with a group of wineries from Piedmont, selected by the journalist, wine communicator and wine educator Deborah Parker Wong, with the aim of addressing specific issues of great interest, with an innovative format that encourages a bi-directional dialogue.
With the three sessions we had the honour to involve up to twenty five great journalists, authors, wine educators and wine influencers, Master of Wine and Master Sommelier from different areas of United States with the aim of providing them an overlook around our wineries, trends and perspectives of Piemonte wines.
After a private tasting session, the producers joined the opinion leaders to discuss around three specific topics under the guide of Deborah Parker Wong: the first session highlighted the differences among different Barolo MGAs, the second allowed to discover emerging producers, lesser-known varieties and appellations and, finally, with the third round table session, issues and challenges of climate change in Piedmont were discussed.
A virtual journey through some of the most renown Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGAs) of Barolo through the interpretations of six different producers of Langa. An interesting debate through the different territorial nuances of the King of Wines. How can we traslate and explain Barolo MGAs? Which are the peculiaties in terms of terroir? Under the guide of Deborah Parker Wong, producers tried to answer to Opinion Leader’s questions.

Emerging producers and wineries, terroir to discover: a journey to explore indigenous Piedmontese varieties including whites Timorasso, Cortese and Nascetta and reds Freisa and Grignolino.
