Given the growing interest in Piedmont and its wine regions in the Netherlands, coupled with the increasing demand for sustainable, organic, and plant-based products in the hospitality industry, our Consortium has decided to take on a new challenge. With the aim of strengthening the position of our wines and Piedmontese producers in the Dutch market, we have devised a completely new initiative targeting the HORECA sector and contemporary cuisine restaurants.

This series of three events, organized and coordinated by our Ambassador Fred Nijhuis, will feature three wine and food pairings in September involving three leading contemporary cuisine restaurants. Each event will be attended by a select group of 10-15 HORECA professionals (chefs, sommeliers, restaurant managers, opinion leaders, and educators of interest to importing companies) + opinion leaders and educators and will involve pairing 15 wines with 4-5 courses created by the guest chef.

We believe that promoting knowledge of our region, educating the hospitality industry about the use and pairing of Piedmontese wines, and highlighting the vast pairing possibilities they offer is the key to increasing the value and recognition of Piedmontese appellations. Knowledge and experimentation are the driving forces behind encouraging the inclusion of new types of wines on restaurant menus through shared tastings and dynamic discussions.

Each dish will be paired with three different labels, showcasing the contemporary nature and versatility of Piedmontese wines.

This initiative is particularly designed for companies already present in the Dutch market, but is open to all companies seeking a new promotional format.
