The consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte in the Irish capital for the second edition of Barolo & Friends
The Consortium I Vini del Piemonte will return to Dublin for the 2nd of Barolo & Friends: an initiative, patronized by the Italian Embassy in Ireland, dedicated to tastings aimed at promoting Piedmontese producers in a very interesting market, experiencing constant economic growth for almost a decade and where there is a growing appreciation for Italian food and wine.
This initiative is designed both for those seeking an importer and for those who, already having one, wish to promote themselves even more effectively in this strategic European market.
With no local wines production, the Irish wine market is entirely dependent on imports: it has developed over the last 50 years but began to grow at a significant pace from the 1990s. Even in recent years, despite the crisis, wine consumption has continued to grow: Italy is currently the 5th largest exporter of wine in the world, with a preference of 46% for red wines, 48% for white wines and 6% for rosé wines.
