The promotion consortium I Vini del Piemonte, which has been present on this market for a long time, organized the fifth Barolo & Friends Event in Stockholm scheduled for 7 February 2023.

In addition to the Piedmontese wine producers will be a delegation of producers of the Aosta Valley consortium.

The event will be held at Operaterrassen, location with a large panoramic windows that offer a magnificent view of the Royal Palace and the Riksdag, the Swedish Parliament.

The day will be divided into a walk around tasting, with a trade session reserved for carefully invited professionals and representatives of Systembolaget the State Monopoly. The latter will be followed by a session dedicated to selected members of the wine clubs and selected wine lovers. Two in-depth master classes dedicated to refined Piedmontese wines will also be organized.

Sweden is an extremely important market for Piedmontese wine exports: for years, in fact, Italy has been firmly in first place in terms of consumption and Piedmont ranks at the top. According to the latest Wine Monitor surveys, after the pandemic there was a real boom in demand, with Piedmontese wines at the top and a general growth for Premium wines.
Systembolaget, the state monopoly, manages about 60% of volumes, while the rest of the market is made up of sales on the Ho.Re.Ca channel and the tax free channel, managed by importers who, together with the numerous wine clubs, exert a strong influence on the tastes of the public and on the choices of the monopoly.
