17-24 June 2021: Oslo will host, once again, the seminars to spread and promote the Piedmontese wine culture in Norway, organized by Ken C. Engebretsen and conducted by Lars Heljesen
After the great success of the first edition, I Vini del Piemonte has confirmed also for 2021 two appointments with the Piemonte Wine School in Oslo: an opportunity to present the Piedmontese excellences already imported on the market.
The calendar includes two master classes that will be held on June 17th and 24th 2021 that will be aimed at members of the Mathallen Vulkan wine club (located in a prestigious and glamorous metropolitan market, a reference point for foodies and wine lovers).
The master classes will be organized by Ken C. Engebretsen (founding member of Norsk Sommelier Education, the most important Norwegian school in the hotel and restaurant sector) and conducted by Lars Heljesen (sommelier, specialized in Italian wines and expert in Roman history and archeology) following the format of Wine Tasting Experience®: a type of tasting event devised by Strada del Barolo e grandi vini di Langa for final consumers, to spread the knowledge of the Piedmontese wines. This kind of event goes beyond the traditional tasting; first of all because it offers the opportunity to compare labels of different producers in one single appointment, and second because it has a strong educational spirit since each experience is led by an expert who, with the help of a supporting video and interactive tools, can reveal secrets and curiosities about the wines presented to the public.
Following the successful example of Denmark (active since 2017), the aim of the Piemonte Wine School is building a Piedmontese wine culture promotion center, helping companies and importers to strengthen their positioning on one of the post strategic market for Piedmontese wines. «The first edition of Piemonte Wine School has aroused a lot of interest – says Mr. Ken C. Engebretsen -: Norwegian consumers love Italian wines and they are increasingly thirsty for knowledge. Piedmont, in particular, is appreciated for the best known appellations, such as Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera, but the Norwegians are really curious to learn more».
