Monday 29 April 2019, the day after the event organized with Fred Nijhuis in Rotterdam, I Vini del Piemonte has been in Amsterdam for the first edition of the Barolo & Friends Event in the Dutch capital.

The event took place at the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam hotel with a packed schedule which included a full day of tastings with separate sessions for operators and final consumers.

In addition to the walk around tasting, which allowed the public to get in touch directly with the wine producers, there have been also two Master Classes.

The Dutch market is potentially extremely interesting for the Piedmontese wines: the wine consumption has grown considerably in the last years and today the Netherlands are ranked 14^th in the world for the total wine consumption. The wine popularity is on the increase especially among the young generations and the demand diversification shows growing consumer awareness. Moreover, the per capita income in the Netherlands is one of the highest in the European Union, therefore this is a market with great potential for top quality wines.
