The programme includes the creation of an “Education Centre on Piedmontese Wine” in Shanghai and the participation to the “Interwine China”Fair in Guangzhou.
For 2018, the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte has scheduled new initiatives to promote the knowledge of Piedmontese wines and territory in China, an extremely complex yet more and more strategic market for Piedmontese wines.
Thanks to the growing popularity that the Piedmontese wines are conquering in the Asian country, I Vini del Piemonte is going to create an “Education Centre on Piedmontese Wine in China”: a new training space inside a wider project conceived by Slow Food China, which aims at promoting the culture of the Italian territory starting from wine.
The new training space will be set up at the Tomorrow Square, one of the most famous skyscrapers in Shanghai, located in the very central West Nanjing Road. This space consists in some 15,000 square metres, divided into three floors. Here, every week, it will be possible to organize “Tasting laboratories®” and “Master classes” to allow trading operators and final consumers to discover more about Piedmontese wines, from native vines to the different DOC and DOCG wines. The meetings will be held in Chinese by teachers specifically trained for the occasion, who will also be supported by videos and interactive tools.
The project also includes a space dedicated to purchases, open to final consumers, where it will be possible to buy the wines proposed during the training sessions.
The first two appointments are scheduled for 14 and 15 December:
From 18 to 20 May 2018, I Vini del Piemonte promoted the participation of a group of Piedmontese wine companies to the 20th edition of Interwine China, one of the most important Fairs dedicated to wine and spirits of the entire China. The Fair was exclusively addressed to trading operators (importers, agents, sommeliers, Ho.Re.Ca, journalists, etc.) with more than thousand exhibitors coming from 50 countries, and some 50,000 sector professionals.
I Vini del Piemonte had a stand inside the Italian pavilion and, on May 20th, there has been a Master Class on Piedmontese wines for professionals led by Sandro Minella.
