Finland and Estonia are two very interesting countries for the export of quality wine: these are, in fact, markets of small-medium size which are definitely growing, where the Italian wines are the first in terms of value of imports together with the French wines. In addition, the average selling price has been constantly increasing in the last 5-6 years and the interest in the Piedmontese wines is very high.

In order to give the companies, members of our consortium, the opportunity to strengthen or start new commercial relationships in markets where the wine consumption is steadily growing, and following the success recorded in 2016, I Vini del Piemonte organized the second edition of the Barolo & Friends Event with two stops in the Baltic capitals. On Tuesday November 7th 2017 in Helsinki, capital of Finland, at the historic Vanha Ylioppilastalo, and Wednesday November 8th in Tallinn, capital of Estonia, at the House of Blackheads.

Both the events included a Walk Around Tasting divided in two sessions: the first one addressed to the sector professionals (importers, dealers, ho.re.ca system, journalists, etc.), carefully profiled and selected on the basis of a real interest towards Piedmontese companies. In Finland, the monopoly representatives has been invited too. On the contrary, the second session was dedicated to the public of local wine lovers, highly selected through the wine clubs. Moreover, during the events, some side activities have been organized. Among these, we can mention Master Classes for professionals and final consumers aiming at improving the knowledge of the different Piedmontese wines.
