On May 17th 2016, the financial capital of the Swiss Confederation hosted the event dedicated to the top quality Piedmontese wines.
The consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte stopped in Zurich for the sixth edition of the Barolo & Friends Event, showing once again the great potential of Piedmontese wines on the Swiss market: almost 300 wine-lovers crowded the halls of the prestigious Zunfthaus zur Saffran to taste the wines of some thirty producers from Piemonte.
Even for this sixth edition the consortium worked in synergy with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland and Vinum, the main Swiss magazine dedicated to wine, which organized two “Atelier Piemonte”, tasting workshops with wines of excellence.
I Vini del Piemonte continues to look with great interest to the Swiss market, a market of consumers who traditionally appreciate quality products and often choose to spend their holidays in Piedmont, attracted not only by its landscape and food traditions, but also by its great wines, of which many of them are experienced connoisseurs.
16.30 / 21.30 – “Walk Around Tasting”: tasting addressed to final consumers. Tables with the producers of Piedmontese DOC and DOCG wines and an area reserved for a selection of top quality food productions.
18.00pm – workshop entitled “Atelier Piemonte” organized by Vinum: “Ruchè, a wine for every pairing”, hosted by the journalist Ursula Geiger. Guided tasting of different Ruché labels.
19.30pm – workshop entitled “Atelier Piemonte” organized by Vinum: “The Wines of Piedmont: the richness of its various expressions”, hosted by the journalist Ursula Geiger. Guided tasting of top quality wines from Piemonte.
19.00pm – Barbaresco vertical tasting: tasting of different Barbaresco DOCG of Cascina Baricchi winery led by the owner of the winery Natale Simonetta and Renata Schwarz, dipl. sommelière.
