On 4th June, 2015, I Vini del Piemonte returns to Zurich with a format rich in initiatives to let Swiss wine-lovers experience excellence and new unique tastes.
The Consortium I Vini del Piemonte makes a stop in Zurich for the fifth edition of the Barolo & Friends Event with the intention of surpassing the considerable success of the previous years (an average of 300-400 tickets sold and great enthusiasm by all participants) and to do so it has already prepared an increasingly innovative and experiential program, exclusively addressed to a selected audience of Swiss wine-lovers, which will allow local consumers to discover the Piedmontese wines through workshops, in-depth seminars, dinners and top quality wine and food pairings.
The consortium I Vini del Piemonte continues, in fact, to look with great interest to Swiss wine-lovers, since, traditionally, they are consumers very sensitive to the quality of the products and choose very often to spend their holidays in Piedmont, attracted by the great wines of the region, of which many of them are experts on, and the scenery and cuisine.
Once again, the prestigious Zunfthaus zur Saffran, seat of the guild of food merchants of Zurich, will host the Barolo & Friends event. As in past events, it will reap the benefits of the precious partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland.
On the occasion of this event, cooperation with the magazine Vinum, the main Swiss magazine dedicated to wine, and with Well Com, agency specialized in public relations and event organization, is also renewed. A new alliance starts with Vercelli Quality Rice Route, that will present the products of Vercelli district in a promotional corner and in the workshops and will offer some tastes to the public.
The event is entirely tailored to producers who are already active in the Swiss market and intend to boost the sale of their wines.
– from 5.00pm to 9.30pm – “Walk Around Tasting”: tasting addressed to final consumers, with the participation of few selected professionals, wine shop owners, importers, sommeliers, etc. Tables with the producers of Piedmontese DOC and DOCG wines and an area reserved for a selection of top quality wine and food products.
– 6.00pm and 7.30pm – “Atelier Piemonte”: two workshops organized by Vinum, which will offer for tasting high level wines paired with top quality food products including Vercelli district rice, held by Ursula Geiger, a journalist of the magazine Vinum. This initiative will benefit from a specific promotion both on the website and on paper of Vinum, which will give prominence to the producers involved.
– 7.00om – Barbaresco Vertical: tasting of ten different vintages of Barbaresco, from 2010 to 1996, of the Azienda Vinicola Cascina Baricchi, led by the sommelier Nicola Mattana.
