From 7th to 9th November 2013 the Consortium i Vini del Piemonte presented, for the second time, the team “Piemonte” at the “Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair”.
With the participation of some 60 producers, Piedmont was, absolutely, one of the most representedregions at the “Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair”, one of the most prestigious events for the promotion of alcoholic beverages.
One of the most popular events in the world, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair is a leg that can’t be missed in an absolutely important market, which is continuously growing, such as the Asian one. This market, with more than 20,000 buyers from 80 Countries and thousands of winelovers has proved its importance. The fair develops over three days with an extremely effective format: the first two days are exclusively dedicated to the operators of the sector while the final day is open to the public of winelovers.
Also on the other side of the world, Piedmont was confirmed to be one of the most well known and appreciated regions for wine growing and production. Especially, many professionals of the sector crowded the Vinitaly International pavilion which also hosted, together with the producers of all the Italian regions, the stall of the Consortium “i Vini del Piemonte”, which had great visibility thanks to the fantastic position and the visual impact guaranteed by a set especially studied and built for the event.
The buyers, mainly coming from Hong Kong, China, Japan, Philippines and other countries of the Asian South East, showed great interest in the Pidmontese wines, as proved by the enthusiastic participation in the two “Master Classes” led by Steve Wong, expert sommelier “Ambassador of the Wines of Piedmont in Hong Kong” for our consortium, which were both sold out.
Great feedback was also obtained by the exclusive dinner dedicated to trade which, on Friday 8th November, at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, saw the special participation of Debra Meiburg, (one of the two Masters of Wine of Hong Kong) who led the tasting of the wines of the Piedmontese producers. The dinner, organized by Ideazione S.r.l. and Michele Shah, marketing adviser specializing in the promotion of Italian wines in exporting markets, was the perfect occasion to give visibility to the attending companies.
