Århus – Copenhagen

The meeting for the year 2012 takes place from 19th to 21st April, for a three day event dedicated to professionals and enthusiasts, with wine and food tastings of excellence, in-depth seminars and presentations of Piemontese tourist heritage.

The event is organized by Consorzio I Vini del Piemonte together with Strada del Barolo, and, as last year, with the prestigious participation of Danish newspaper Berlingske – in charge of the event’s promotion in Denmark and the presale of tickets – as well as with other important Danish partners.

As in the previous editions of the Kermesse, wine will be the great protagonist. But the Consortium will also bring to Denmark the very best of Piedmontese food production, thanks to the cooperation run with many representatives of the regional production (there will be a whole area dedicated to traditional cheeses and other great products).

The program

“Barolo & Friends” will start in Århus, Thursday 19th April, at the Ridehuset palace where two tastings, dedicated both to the public and professionals such as importers, dealers, wine shops and journalists, will open the fourth edition of the Kermesse. (15-17.30; 18-20.30)

Friday 20th April “Barolo & Friends” is glad to return to Copenhagen, to the prestigious Børsen Palace, where the previous editions were hosted. The first event will be a session dedicated to professionals of the sector with specific tastings (12.00-15.00), meetings with the producers and a thematic seminar with a focus on Gavi and Alta Langa, hosted by the well-known Scandinavian journalist Thomas Ilkjaer (responsible for the sommelier school in Copenhagen and, since 1997, wine journalist for Danish, Swedish and Norwegian trade magazines) at 12.15. After that, there will be two sessions open to the public (15.00-17.30; 18.00-20.30) to allow wine lovers to meet the producers and taste the great Piedmontese wines together with the very best of Barolo food production.

At 10.30 a special seminar about wine and food matches- the best wines meet the great cheese of Langa.

Members of the public enthusiastic about wine will also have the whole day of Saturday 21st April to meet producers and cooperative cellars from Piedmont and discover the very best food production of the Region directly presented by the different producers. (two session: 14.30 – 17.00; 17.30-20.00)

In addition to the producers, during the two days in Copenaghen, the offer will also be enriched by Vignaioli Piemontesi, who will have a dedicated area for the tasting of a selection of DOC and DOCG wines coming from different cooperatives: this area will form the Great Wine Shop of the Social cooperatives. There will also be the possibility to taste Gavi, here with the group Golden Gavi, and the bubbles of Alta Langa.
