From February 12th to 14th 2018, the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte came back to Norway for the fifth consecutive year, with three events addressed to trade and consumers in Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen.
I Vini del Piemonte has always looked with special interest the Scandinavian area, and, for years, it has been regularly organizing events and initiatives in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. These events have been held not only in the capitals but also in secondary cities. That is why the 2018 Norwegian tour of the Barolo & Friends Event, besides confirming the stops in Oslo and Trondheim, also included a new leg in Bergen.
The tour started on February 12th 2018 in Oslo, capital of the country, which hosted the event for the fifth consecutive year. The event has been held at the Gamle Logen and was divided into three distinct moments: a first session exclusively reserved to trade representatives; a second session dedicated to wine lovers, selected with the collaboration of the sommelier associations and some of the most important Norwegian wine clubs. And finally, a promotional moment reserved to representatives of Vinmonopolet (the Norwegian State Monopoly) which, in respect of their prerogatives, enabled them to get to know more about the Piedmontese wine producing companies as well as the characteristics of their products.
On February 13th 2018, it has been the turn of Trondheim, third city in the country, also known as the “food town” due to the several annual festivals, its gastronomic pavilion, the market with the best Norwegian farmers and the many fine restaurants. Here, there was a Walk Around Tasting and two Master Classes addressed to the final consumers and, following, a wine dinner with the wines of the Piedmontese producers.
Finally, on February 14th 2018, the Barolo & Friends Event arrived, for the first time, in Bergen, the second city of Norway, also known as the “Fjord Gate”. Bergen is a very lively centre for the presence of many students; a city which can also boast a catering sector of high level. Also here there was a Walk Around Tasting and two Master Classes aimed at final consumers and a wine dinner with the wines of the Piedmontese producers.
